Cashier

This position sets up cash register with cash float and current date; receives cash payment and makes change for food and drink purchases by customers; itemizes cash received by denomination and amount at end of shift and places in safe or delivers to designated staff member, according to established procedures; readies and refills drink machines and stocks serving cases with foods, beverages, condiments and other supplies as required; cleans serving cases and counters; checks and validates meal passes by manual or automated methods and monitors trays for quantities in assigned dining areas; keeps records as required. May assist in training new cashiers and in lock-up procedures. Performs related work as required.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to follow written and oral instructions accurately; be able to handle cash accurately, make change, and keep simple records and receipts; have previous cashiering experience; be able to work compatibly with staff and clientele; have knowledge of kitchen and dining room work, personal hygiene standards, effective sanitation and housekeeping procedures, and operation of standard kitchen equipment; be able to learn routines related to assisting in food preparation and service. Must be in good physical health and must be prepared to take a medical examination.

Continuing, Full-Time Painter

Reporting to the Head Painter provides journeyman level painting skills for buildings, fixtures, furniture, parking lot areas, etc. using a variety of techniques and equipment. Mixes colours, lacquers, varnishes and stains. Applies floor tiles, resilient coverings and baseboards. Glazes windows and cabinets. Applies caulking materials to repair leaks in buildings. Applies various wall coverings including paper and vinyl. Maintains tools, equipment and supplies used. Maintains safe working conditions

Job Requirements

Must have completed apprenticeship and hold current Painter’s Qualification. Journeyman (M/F) level skills and demonstrated proficiency in performing painter trades tasks. Sufficient strength and coordination to work from ladders and staging and use all tools of the trade. Valid B.C. driver’s licence required to drive a light truck in performance of above duties.
