Marine Surveyor

Perform surveys on board sea going vessels, i.e., full inspection of ships’ hold for suitability with respect to cleanliness, Draft Surveys, On/Off-hire surveys, Bunker Surveys and Damage Inspection.

Laboratory Technician

This position will carry out various routine testing and analysis, following written work instructions under the direction of the Supervisor of a specific department.

Responsibilities:

  • Duties may include: sample reception, sample identification, sample preparation, sample dilutions, setting up analytical batches and analysis, batch Quality Control, approving and releasing results to the data centre and filing of lab results/data.
  • Ensure samples are logged into LIMS accurately and in a quick manner.
  • Ensure samples are catalogued and stored in an efficient and easily retrievable manner.
  • Assists laboratory personnel in locating and retrieving of samples and also responsible for sample disposal or returning samples to clients.

Customer Service Representative

This position will work with customers both internal and external providing support, information and/or documentation in response to their requests; or inquiries about SGS services, pricing and status of analysis, ongoing throughout the performance of the Company’s contractual obligations. Deliver timely and trustworthy service to the customer while ensuring that Company quality and integrity standards are preserved.

Sample Preparation

The Sample Preparation technician is responsible for performing routine sorting, transferring, drying, crushing, pulverising and screening of geological materials in accordance with client work order instructions and laboratory quality guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Unpack, sort, transfer and dry samples
  • Execute and perform crushing, pulverising and screening of geological materials as per SGS’ Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct routine quality checks including particle size analysis, dust loss and report data immediately to the Supervisor or group leader if results are outside of acceptability parameters.
