SECRETARY

DUTIES

With minimum supervision, the successful applicant will perform secretarial duties for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Head. This position requires initiative and judgment and is part of the team providing administrative support for the department.Duties include typing letters, memoranda and correspondence from dictating equipment and/or rough draft, taking and transcribing minutes of meetings; preparing agendas; scheduling meetings and providing necessary support; arranging travel; replying in person, telephone or correspondence to enquiries; assessing and inputting information on Banner Student and/or Student Web; maintaining a computerized and manual filing system; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-3 years) in secretarial work; graduation from high school supplemented by courses in business education or secretarial science; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel is required. Experience with other office computer applications, such as Google Docs, Google calendar and Dropbox is an asset.
