Sales Advisor

We don’t call them “salespeople” or “sales associates” because that’s not what we do. Our Sales Advisors are here to ensure that our customers enjoy a fantastic shopping experience, whether it’s offering them garment options or answering simple questions such as locating the fitting rooms. Because, in the end, we believe that our clothes will sell themselves. Overall Job Function: Optimizes the store’s selling by providing the customers with a pleasant shopping experience, including providing customers with garment options and direct service.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months of experience in customer service, retail industry preferred

Department Manager

They also coach the Sales Advisors identifying and teaching new talent. Most importantly, they are charged with helping our stores make a great first impression every day. Because at the end of the day, we can only sell what inspires our customers and it’s up to our Visual Merchandisers to show them what’s possible at H&M.

Overall Job Function: Responsible for presenting the garments according to the H&M guidelines in order to maximize sales with guidance and direction of Store Manager and management team

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma fashion industry specialty preferred (i.e. Visual Merchandising Arts,  Fashion Arts, Fashion Management, Retail Management)
  • 2 years of retail visual merchandising experience
  • Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items (mannequins, clothing, totes, torsos, etc.) for a short distance

Department Supervisor

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

  • You regularly analyze and follow up on Sales & Profit KPIs for your department and together with the Visual Merchandisers you take action to maximize sales
  • You plan and prioritize actions together with your team that have a clear impact on sales
  • You give input to your Department and Store Manager on allocation and replenishment to ensure good garment levels in your department according to sales
  • You assist the store by being the Manager on Duty and ensuring that staff is focused on the customer and drive selling on your hour
  • You ensure your department continuously meets H&M standards and follow this up using the Customer Experience Tool
  • Together with your Visual Team, you ensure the implementation of the Commercial Handbook in your department
  • You ensure Store Operations & Best Practices are followed in your department and throughout the store
  • You ensure H&M Customer service standards are delivered in your department and throughout the store
  • You ensure that the maintenance in your department is managed in a cost-efficient way to meet H&M standards and initiate any appropriate action accordingly with your Store Management team
  • You actively work with a talent pipeline in your department to support the business and store needs
  • You ensure clear communication with your team on business performance, company culture and store and department goals
  • You are an ambassador of the values and use the Global Leadership Expectations to develop staff in the store
  • You ensure that Health & Safety, legal and security issues are being handled in accordance with H&M standards and local laws, ensuring employee and customer safety at all times
