Bilingual Payroll Specialist

Golder has a new opportunity for a Bilingual Payroll Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis based in Mississauga. As a Bilingual Payroll Specialist, you will ensure that the multi-jurisdictional bi-weekly payroll is processed accurately and on time. 

An overview of your role will include: 

  • Full cycle processing of a bi-weekly payroll for multiple provinces, including Québec, using ADP Performance Pack (Pay@Work)
  • Prepare, verify, and process payments to various third parties ensuring deductions are in accordance with applicable legislations
  • Prepare monthly accruals and journal entries
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc payroll reports
  • Assist with year-end and related tax forms, including T4, Revelvés, T2200, T-64-3, etc.
  • Assist the payroll manager with special projects as required
  • Respond to employee inquiries and resolve general issues escalating as required
  • Perform other duties as required
You will have a background in:
  • College diploma in Business Administration or related program
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in English and French
  • 1 – 2 years related experience with a multi-jurisdictional
  • College diploma in accounting, payroll, or related
  • Highly proficient with ADP Pay@Work and MS Office (especially excel)
  • Canadian Payroll Association PCP designation an asset

Cash Applications Specialist

The Corporate Accounting department of Golder Associates Inc. has an immediate opening for a Cash Applications Specialist in ourAtlanta, GA office. This individual will report directly to the Corporate Controller and is a member of the Corporate Accounting department.

Responsibilities include providing the Corporate Accounting Department with support on all accounting-related issues as follows:

  • Post daily cash receipts which include wire, ACH, lockbox, credit card, and live checks for both Canadian and US operations;
  • Balance daily cash receipt input files to bank totals to ensure completeness;
  • Maintain paperless filing of all cash receipts on a daily basis;
  • Reconcile client accounts including communication on short paid balances, unidentified payments and duplicate payments;
  • Maintain suspense details, research unidentified payments and reconcile monthly;
  • Answer inquiries from internal and external clients via phone and email;
  • Partner with the team and management by quickly issues to their attention, work to understand the root cause and offer potential solutions;
  • Perform other accounting or financial tasks as may be required by the Finance Director, Corporate Controller or Corporate Accounting Manager.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED;
  • A minimum of two years related working experience;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong team player with pleasant, helpful and courteous demeanor
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Hydrogeology Modeller

Golder has a new opportunity for a Hydrogeology Modeller to join our Water team on a full-time basis based in Calgary.

An overview of your role will include: 

  • Support the groundwater team on a wide variety of project tasks, including but not limited to data analysis, data visualization, groundwater modelling and reporting.
  • Field work is associated with hydrogeological projects, including ground water investigations, ground water sampling, pumping tests, drilling, design, installation and testing of supply and site characterization/investigations
  • Willingness to travel and participate in remote field work, primarily within western and northern Canada and the ability to adapt to unpredictable and/or inclement field conditions and changing schedules
  • Work as a crew leader for planning, logistics, and equipment calibration
  • Responsible for personal and team safety during field operations
  • Data entry of field data collection
  • Solid organizational skills (prioritization, time management, record keeping, follow up, tracking)
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (if hired, a driver’s abstract is required)
  • Develop positive working relationships in a team environment
  • Understand, follow, and participate in Golder’s health and safety programs
  • Quantitative skills, resourcefulness, and attention to detail
  • Have an understanding of the principles of hydrogeology

 You will have a background in:

  • A technical diploma in environmental science or equivalent from an accredited college or university, or a university degree in science

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a mid to senior-level Geotechnical Engineer for the Redmond, Washington office. In this role you will have the opportunity to help lead our growing Geotechnical Practice as part of a team on challenging heavy civil, transportation, and urban development projects throughout the Puget Sound area.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Interact with clients, engineering firms, developers, public agencies, contractors to develop project opportunities
* Help lead project proposal development and lead projects
* Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and reporting – including deep foundations, retaining structures, earthquake mitigations, slope stability, and more.
* Lead small to large size projects
* Represent Golder at project team meetings, client events, and professional meetings

Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
* Puget Sound experience and client relationship
* Design-build experience in transportation and/or development as discipline or task lead
* Foundation design
* LRFD experience
* Numerical Modeling background
* Advanced seismic knowledge
* Dewatering experience

Required Qualifications:
* MS in Geotechnical Engineering
* 10 to 15 years of relevant experience
* Demonstrated successful project management experience
* Registered Professional Engineer – preferred but not necessarily in Washington
* Strong soil mechanics and foundation engineering knowledge
* Excellent communication skills
* Valid driving license
