The Position
We are looking for a detail oriented and organized professional willing to develop his/her career. At Gateway Casinos you will be surrounded with learning opportunities and professionals that will support you in this process. In a team oriented environment, the Accounting Associate will exercise a high level of accuracy and discretion to provide assistance with processing, reconciling, and generating reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares bank reconciliations, bank journal entries, credit card transactions, bank deposits and coordinate the processes.
- Corroborates and validates invoices and statements with accurate documentation.
- Assists with ad-hoc accounting related functions and requirements.
- Verifies that purchase orders are charged to proper accounts.
- Prepares payments to third parties and ensures delivery.
- Ensures accounting files are organized and updated.
- Coordinates and distributes statistic reports.
What You’ll Require
- One year of experience in a similar role within an accounting department and/or equivalent combination of related education and experience
- Post-secondary education in accounting or business administration preferred
- Experience with Great Plains preferred
- General knowledge of accounting and financial theories, practices, legislation and resources
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of spreadsheets, data base software, email and web browsers
- Strong verbal, written communication and ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with proprietary and confidential information
