Canadian Blood Services is looking to hire a Driver to join our Logistics team in Ottawa. Our Drivers are responsible for much more than just driving. We look to our Drivers to: prepare daily vehicle inspection and driver logs, be familiar and comfortable working with computers, work hands-on with packaged blood product, frequently travel with a team, pitch-in at our mobile clinics, and much more! Our drivers will be working very closely with our Clinic Services team and also with the general public – so an aptitude for customer service is imperative!

In this role you will operate and maintain Canadian Blood Services’ vehicles, complete collection on mobile clinics, pack and transport blood products, supplies, employees, volunteers, donors and related equipment, as directed.

Receive, prepare and ship blood products/specimens.
Perform various duties as a member of the Collection team on mobile clinics, according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety and regulatory standards.
Maintain Canadian Blood Services’ vehicle fleet.
Understand and use Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Centre Operating Procedures (COPs) as a source of information and guidance in the performance of all duties.
Comply with Transport Canada Hours of Service Regulations, National Safety Code and provincial Highways Traffic Acts.
Required Skills
Minimum 24 months verifiable professional driving experience in the last three years.
Must possess a Secondary School diploma.
A valid Class C or B drivers’ license is preferred; Class D and F may be considered.
Must be capable of operating motor vehicles of various sizes and have the ability to be certified in defensive driving, transportation of dangerous goods, and first aid.
At least one continuous year of professional experience driving large vehicles is required.
Experience working in a regulated environment is an asset.
Strong communication skills in English, and a demonstrated use of good judgement is required.
Must have excellent interpersonal & customer service skills, & have the ability to work in a team setting.
The physical ability to load, unload, & carry heavy clinic equipment & supplies up & down ramps is required.
Must be available to work variable shifts – days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and some holidays.

Sr. Program Manager, Organ Listing & Allocation

Required Skills

Education, Training and Experience:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution. Preference for a
  • Masters degree in a related field.
  • Ideally, a minimum of 10 years of related experience in health care, with 5 years’ experience managing projects.
  • Experience in a role managing multi-disciplinary committees in a healthcare setting.
  • General management experience, including training, mentoring and directing staff.
  • Knowledge of organ and tissue donation and transplantation in Canada, an asset.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Demonstrated Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong background in development and management of clinical 3PGs; policies, processes, procedures and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of project management methodology an asset.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to advance initiatives.
  • Ability to conceptualize and analyze complex issues, interpret system needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Ability to ascertain key insights from literature reviews for reports and presentations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Clear and careful verbal and written communications skills in English.
  • Self-directed with ability to work independently, as a team leader, as part of a management team, and with stakeholders and volunteers from multiple external organizations.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance, leadership, and mentoring in a collaborative, consultative, and positive manner.
  • Ability to communicate in French an asset.
  • Travel required.
