HVAC Specialist
Based in Toronto, Ontario, you will lead the maintenance deparment, repairs and project activities on the HVAC units supplied in GO Transit’s Bi-level fleet. This would encompass the identification of materials and manufacturing methods, quality assurance, obsolete components substitution, design upgrades, component repair, refurbishment and new product introduction within the fleet. The position will be responsible day to day the supervision of equipment maintainers assigned to assist in HVAC work maintenance, the knowledge transfer and mentorship of the HVAC information to maintenance staff.
In your role you will:
– Reengineer, upgrade or create modifications to increase reliability of the HVAC equipment. Create Project Initiation and scope documents that will be presented to the customer for approval;
– Review customer requests and develop the solutions to address HVAC performance issues;
– Provide oversight, input and expertise to the maintainers performing the maintenance, repairs and modifications to ensure the specifications are met;
– Perform the day to day supervisory duties, managing the HVAC maintainers; including and not limited to work task organization, payroll approval, documentation and work order completion;
– Provide oversight, input and expertise in the development of HVAC maintenance procedures and programs.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate:
– You hold a Technical diploma in HVAC repair and maintenance;
– You have four (4) years working experience in rail vehicle maintenance or manufacturing;
– You possess 313A refrigeration and air conditioning license;
– You own practical computer experience: Excel, Word and Maximo;
– You have planning experience on projects of similar scale and proven track record (e.g. PMP);
– You own knowledge of scheduling techniques and Earned Value techniques;
– You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Line Supervisor Positions (POOL)
Our Toronto, Canada Team is currently seeking qualified Supervisors for Production, Operations, Pre-flight, Quality and Logistics to play a key role in meeting the goals of the business in today’s challenging and changing environment.
The assignment may be for Days, Afternoons, Midnights, Rotating and/or weekend shift.
In your role you will:
• Achieve the required Operations Unit performance by supporting and implementing the operating plan ensuring adherence to quality, cost and schedule.
• Supervise Union employees in their execution of responsibilities as defined by Bombardier Manufacturing Systems for Material Planning and Material Handling.
• Plan, implement and control functional activities in order to achieve the Operations Unit targets.
• Continuously improve business processes to ensure best practice in quality, cost and labour relations;
• Coach/develop and provide feedback to employees and address their issues, to ensure true engagement within the team.
• Utilize Bombardier Lean Methodology to ensure best practice in both quality and cost for Operations Unit deliverables in line with Bombardier’s strategic vision
• Promote a ‘Safety first’ environment by achieving housekeeping standards and adherence to working practices.
• Ensure functional role is integrated into Operations Unit resulting in a one-team approach.
• Develop a ‘right first time’ environment to ensure Quality is built into the product not inspected into it.

Qualifications
As our ideal candidate,
– You have possess post-secondary degree/diploma in technical discipline and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Supervisory role in a Manufacturing environment
• You have Lean, Six Sigma tools involving the shop floor processes
• You have in depth knowledge and experience in budgeting control, manufacturing and scheduling
• You have previous experience working in a unionized environment
• You have high-level customer oriented approach with the desire to provide excellent service
• You are flexible and able to work various shifts, including weekends
• Experience in Aerospace, Automotive and/or heavy manufacturing will be an asset
• Pre-flight applicants must have a AME (M1 or M2) license (Required for AMO) and knowledge of the Canadian Air Regulations
• Logistic applicants must have Inventory Planning and Material Handling experience
Maintenance Supervisor
Based in Toronto, Ontario, you will be responsible to plan, organize and manage a team of Equipment Maintainers, Electrical and Mechanical Technicians to repair and maintain commuter coaches and locomotives. You will also prepare train sets for dispatch by assigning staff to trip, brake test, service the equipment for revenue train service.
In your role you will:
– Review work loads and assign appropriate staff to complete the repairs, maintenance or trip and brake inspections in a timely fashion;
– Monitor equipment servicing repairs, by auditing staff and completed tasks;
– Ensure appropriate material is on site to expedite repairs;
– Plan work schedules and assignments to ensure that equipment is being serviced within the maintenance guidelines;
– Monitor work order completion using Maximo, employees timekeeping using Kronos.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate:
– You hold a post secondary diploma;
– You have three (3) to four (4) years of experience in a railway industry;
– You have completed apprenticeship (considered as an asset);
– You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
